TruEarth Demos

TerraMetrics TruViewer – Our standard TruEarth benchmark viewer.

TerraMetrics provides two online demonstrations of the full expanse of the global TruEarth 15-meter imagery database that may help in your analysis and comparison of products. The online demos show different characteristics of the global TruEarth imagery. If you have questions regarding TruEarth imagery in Google Earth, please visit our Google Earth FAQs link.

TruViewer Demonstrator #1
This is a Google Maps demo that shows subsampled, 480-meter global-coverage imagery in its native geographic projection. It offers several versions of imagery, defaulting to the “TruEarth15 480m Bath” format which shows the TruEarth 15-meter imagery (subsampled to the lower 480-meter resolution) matted on top of synthetic bathymetric ocean imagery. At the upper-left, click on the “TruEarth15 480m Native” button to view the raw TruEarth 15-meter imagery, as it is delivered, only at the lower 480-meter resolution.

Note: The “TruEarth15 480m Native” imagery option is our standard benchmark for customers to examine and qualify the cloud cover, coverage area and general visual characteristics of the global TruEarth 15-meter dataset. If you have specific questions about Google Earth, please visit our Google Earth FAQs link.

TruViewer Demonstrator #2
This demonstration is based on leaflet.js and shows subsampled, 480-meter global-coverage imagery projected into the common web-based Spherical Mercator projection. This demo includes full 15-meter resolution within the continental U.S. area, outlined by the dashed lines that you’ll see when you zoom way out. The 480-meter resolution data is shown on top of the synthetic bathymetric ocean imagery, as in the first demo.
